One Piece chapter 1111 titled "Sun Shield" has been released. This chapter depicts the battle between Luffy and the giant against the Gorosei. Saint Marcus Mars finally manages to break into the Labo Stratum by penetrating the laser shield protecting the area.
In the form of a giant bird monster, Marcus Mars observes the fight between Rob Lucci and Zoro from above. Jinbe senses a very strong Haki from the monster and rushes to take Zoro away from there.
Saint Marcus Mars Encounters Rob Lucci
Lucci, severely injured due to Zoro's attack, finally releases his awakening mode. Saint Mars approaches him to inquire about the location of York. Vegapunk York has made a deal with the Gorosei to create the Mother Flame.
Initially, Lucci is surprised by the monster's form, but he eventually realizes that the monster is one of the Gorosei. He then reports all his investigations, including the existence of 85 Cipher Pol agents and 4 Seraphim in the basement.
Rob Lucci requests Saint Mars to save his partner, Kaku, who is severely injured. However, this request seems impossible, as for the Gorosei, Kaku is merely like a worthless insect.
Luffy and the Giant Against the Gorosei
The story shifts to Luffy and the giant. Brogy mentions that there's a legend in Elbaf about a god resembling Luffy's appearance in Gear 5 mode. However, Luffy doesn't understand this. Currently, Luffy shouldn't be fighting against the Gorosei; the Mugiwara crew's top priority is to leave Egghead Island.
Dorry finally blows the trumpet, signaling that he has found Luffy. This indicates to the giant pirate crew to retreat immediately. However, Saint Topman Warcury won't let them escape so easily.
He unleashes a powerful conqueror's Haki roar, creating strong winds that send trees flying. Interestingly, this wind also sends parts of Luffy's body flying. Saint Warcury then attacks with his tusks, now transformed into sharp swords.
Sun Shield Svalinn
But the attack can be blocked by Dorry and Brogy with the Sun Shield Svalinn, then they push Warcury back with the Split Skylda attack. Saint Warcury is thrown back and falls to the ground.
Saint Saturn says that the World Government will erase both the giant and Luffy from the world's history. Saturn releases a dangerous poison attack from his mouth. With the power of Gear 5, Luffy grabs a tree and turns it into a baseball bat.
Luffy uses the bat to hit back the poison thrown at him. The poison flies back towards the Gorosei and explodes violently. The explosion causes the forest to catch fire, temporarily hindering the Gorosei.
Are the Gorosei Immortal?
Luffy says that they need to hurry because these monsters cannot die. Even though Luffy has attacked them several times, the Gorosei keep coming back. Are the Gorosei truly immortal? Brogy says that he has never heard of a race or power that can make humans immortal.
However, there is actually one devil fruit that can grant immortality, the Ope Ope no Mi owned by Trafalgar D. Water Law. The user of this devil fruit can perform an immortality operation at the cost of the user's life. Could the Gorosei have undergone an immortality operation in the past with the Ope Ope no Mi?
On the other side, Nami and the crew are already behind the island and ready to sail. They just need to wait for Zoro, who is being fetched by Jinbe. However, there are three vice admirals blocking the ship's path. They want to capture Bonney, who currently has control over the Pacifista.
Stopping Vegapunk's Broadcast
In the Labo Stratum, Saint Mars in the form of a giant bird monster finds York tied up. He asks where the room broadcasting Vegapunk's broadcast is, but York is frightened upon seeing the talking monster.
Since Marcus Mars is now in the Labo Stratum with York, it's not surprising if they will eventually thwart Vegapunk's broadcast to the world. Meanwhile, Kizaru is still lying on the Marine ship and doesn't want to get involved in the fight again.
The Emergence of the Iron Giant
From a distance, a titan larger than the giant is seen. The fire burning the forest cannot even stop it. It turns out that the titan is the Iron Giant, who has been sleeping in Egghead. He walks while murmuring, "forgive me, Joyboy."
Why is he asking for forgiveness? What is the connection with Joyboy? Not only the Iron Giant, even Zunesha the giant elephant also knows Joyboy and is said to have made a big mistake in the past. What really happened during the Void Century?
Moreover, it seems like many large objects are related to Joyboy. Besides the Iron Giant and Zunesha, there's also the Noah ship in Fishman Island, which is of immense size. Even Gear 5 Luffy can turn into a giant. Is the giant straw hat in Mary Geoise also related to Joyboy?
There are still 6 minutes left before Vegapunk delivers his announcement to the world. Can Saint Mars and York stop Vegapunk's broadcast? Let's wait for the next story in 3 weeks.
