Niantic has announced the Pokemon GO Community Day for February 2024, featuring Chansey. This had been anticipated by players following leaks of the Comday schedule circulating on X.
Chansey was initially introduced in Pokemon Red and Blue, the first generation. In Pokemon GO, Chansey can evolve into Blissey with 50 Chansey Candy. Blissey is regarded as the top Gym Defender in Pokemon GO due to its exceptionally high stamina, totaling 496.
Evolve Chansey during the Community Day to obtain a Blissey with the charge attack Wild Charge. Despite its high stamina, Blissey lacks a strong moveset, being limited to the fast attacks Zen Headbutt and Pound.
As for charge attacks, Blissey can only learn Hyper Beam, Psychic, and Dazzling Gleam. This makes it less relevant for the Go Battle League. The inclusion of Wild Charge is, undoubtedly, an enhancement for Blissey.
Wild Charge is an Electric-type charge attack with 90 power for PVE and 100 power for PvP, with a 100% chance to lower its user's defense (self-debuff). While Wild Charge might not make Blissey META, it could prove useful in a future cup.
During this Chansey Community Day, Happiny will hatch more frequently from 2 km eggs. Trainers will have an increased chance of hatching a Shiny Happiny from the 2 km eggs obtained during the community day.
Shiny Chansey Family
Shiny Chansey features a green coloration on its ears and abdomen, making it easily distinguishable from its normal version. However, Shiny Blissey is almost indistinguishable from its regular counterpart. Shiny Blissey stands out as one of the worst shinies in Pokemon history.
Event Bonuses
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
- 1/4 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in Incubators during the event period.
- 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon.
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!
- One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two for the day.
- Trades will require 50% less Stardust.
- Happiny has a chance of hatching from 2 km Eggs obtained during February Community Day. Happiny that hatch from these Eggs will have the same chance of appearing as a Shiny Pokémon as Chansey that appear during February Community Day.
Date and Time
The Pokemon GO Community Day for February 2024 will take place on Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 2 to 5 p.m local time. Additionally, there will be a Pokestop Showcase competition to find the largest Chansey and Blissey from 2 to 10 p.m.
