Niantic has announced the Pokemon GO Community Day for May 2024, featuring Bounsweet. Bounsweet is a Pokemon from Generation 7, the Alola region. In Pokemon GO, Bounsweet can evolve into Steenee with 25 Bounsweet Candy, then into Tsareena with 100 Bounsweet Candy.
Evolve Steenee during the Community Day to obtain Tsareena with the Charge Attack High Jump Kick. High Jump Kick is a new Fighting-type Charge Attack with 90 damage for Gyms & Raids, and 110 damage for Trainer Battles, with a chance to significantly lower the user's defense.
Tsareena is not a strong Pokemon for PvP Trainer Battles. Despite gaining access to a new Charge Move, unfortunately, it still cannot make this Pokemon relevant in the Go Battle League meta. However, High Jump Kick might be useful for other Fighting-type Pokemon.
Shiny Bounsweet Family
Shiny Bounsweet is quite easily distinguishable from its normal version. Its characteristic feature is the change in leaf color to purple. As for Steenee and Tsareena, besides the hair color turning purple, the color of their heads and bodies also changes to light green.
Bonus Event
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
- 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed into Incubators during the event.
- 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon.
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!
- One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two for the day.
- Trades will require 50% less Stardust.
Date and Time
The Pokemon GO Community Day for May 2024 will take place on Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Additionally, there will be a Pokestop Showcase competition to find the largest Bounsweet and Tsareena. Also, check out the schedule for Pokemon Go events in May 2024.
