May is the third month of the World of Wonders season. This season runs from March 1 to June 1, 2024. Niantic has released the Pokemon Go event schedule for May.
In May, there will be 2 new Ultra Beasts released, Blacephalon and Stakataka. Blacephalon is a Fire/Ghost-type Ultra Beast, while Stakataka is Rock/Steel-type. Both Ultra Beasts will be regional Pokemon in the Western Hemisphere and Eastern Hemisphere.
Additionally, Diancie will be released globally through the special research Glitz and Glam. Diancie is a Rock/Fairy-type Mythical Pokemon from Generation VI. Mega Diancie is the strongest rock-type attacker and the second strongest fairy-type attacker in Pokemon GO currently. Here is the Pokemon GO event schedule for May 2024:

Five Star Raids
Tapu Fini, Regirock, Blacephalon, and Stakataka will be raid bosses during May 2024. Blacephalon and Stakataka are regional Pokemon. Tapu Fini caught during May will receive the Legacy Attack Nature's Madness.
This attack can also be obtained through Elite TM. It is a Fairy-type attack with 90 damage in Gym & Raid Battle. For Trainer Battle, Nature's Madness has 80 damage and can lower the opponent's defense.

Mega Raids
Mega Alakazam, Mega Gyarados, and Mega Pidgeot will be mega raid bosses during May. All of these mega raid bosses can be caught in shiny form.

Shadow Raids
Every Saturday and Sunday during May, Shadow Suicune will be a shadow raid boss. If you don't have Shadow Suicune yet, don't miss this opportunity.
Raid Hours
Every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time, there will be Raid Hours. Tapu Fini will receive the Legacy Attack during these Raid Hours. This is a great opportunity to collect legendary Pokemon candy and hunt shiny legendaries.

Spotlight Hours
Every Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time, there will be Pokemon Spotlight Hours where specific Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild with various bonuses. This is a great opportunity to hunt shiny Pokemon or collect resources.

Complete field research to collect 7 stamps each week. Goomy, Hisuian Sneasel, Furfrou, Sandygast, Jangmo-o, and Dubwool will be randomly rewarded when trainers collect 7 stamps.
